look closer as coperni draws astronomical figures and constellations on evian’s glass bottles
evian’s glass bottles come to life as a portable observatories with coperni engraving constellations and astronomical landscapes around the packaging.
evian taps into its astronomical side with coperni
Coperni brings astronomy and constellations to evian’s glass bottle design, creating a free stargazing moment for dreamers and drinkers alike. evian has previously collaborated with other design houses and personalities including Balmain, Virgil Abloh, and Jean Paul Gaultier. For its recent one with Coperni, the water brand brings out its metaphysical and astronomical side as it transforms its packaging into a canvas that the Parisian fashion house can utilize to draw and realize its penchant for astronomy.
Coperni pays homage to its namesake, the pioneering astronomer Copernicus. The campaign begins with the slogan ‘look closer.’ In fact, that’s what the viewers are supposed to do. As they hold up or spin the glass bottle, they seek and find astronomical figures and models floating around constellations, detailing a mythological story of the two brands. Each narrative unfolds differently around each of the bottles which are being sold as limited-edition 75cL glass containers at Selfridges in the UK.

Glass bottles as portable observatories
To celebrate the launch, evian and Coperni partnered with creative director Camille Summers-Valli on a duo of campaign films set at the iconic Georges, on the roof of the Centre Pompidou. In the LOVE video, the couple is out on a date. As they share a kiss over a romantic dinner, the camera jumps inside the evian glass bottle’s seal, warping the world into the imagined constellation realm of Coperni. Here, a baby wearing a hoodie with horns gulps the evian bottle with joy while sitting on a white cloud. The camera sprints back into the real world so the viewers can witness the couple kiss before the scene is vacuumed out of the dinner to focus on the bottle.
The second clip, titled Drinkers, features two friends enjoying the view from the rooftop balcony of a skyscraper, sharing a glass of Coperni’s evian while watching the sunset. Before the glass gets full, the camera jumps in again into the seal and unveils two women floating in constellations, decked out in their modern-fashion outfits that may recall Coperni’s very own collection. Moments later, the two women reappear again as the camera pivots back out of the astronomical realm, capturing the respite that the actresses are basking in as the wind blows and the sun sets.

Coperni films evian’s astronomical glass bottles
The two short films produced for Coperni’s evian glass bottles showcase the themes of connection by demonstrating moments of human interaction that can lead to playfulness and imagination. The clips transition from these real-life moments to the inside of the imagined world of the evian and Coperni constellations. These videos become another platform for Coperni to manifest its reverence for the design approach that concerns the stars and astronomy.
Dawid Borowiec, Global Director at evian, says that the collaboration with Coperni represents a celebration of youthful creativity and playfulness practiced by the water brand’s Live Young philosophy. Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant of Coperni echo these words as they unveil their work for evian and add that ‘Growing up in France, it has always been a passion to collect the evian limited bottles, it’s an honor for us to design the new one today.’
