luca nichetto designed a vibrant display for his ‘wolfgang’ collection at the fornasarig stand, during stockholm furniture fair 2016. using his ‘wolfgang chairs’ the designer created a rainbow pattern across the stand, showcasing the variety of shades available, as well as providing a backdrop for nichetto’s more subtle pieces. on the floor, the furniture was assembled to mimic a place of work, with groups of chairs arranged together. the ‘high-backed lounge chair’ stood proudly at the front, highlighted by the colourful arch of hues above.

when luca nichetto opened his stockholm studio in 2011, the ‘wolfgang’ furniture family was the first fruit of this new chapter in the studio’s history. five years after the launch of this initial range, nichetto pushed the collection in bold new directions. the new version of the ‘wolfgang chair’ replaces the original’s wooden frame with a slender metal one. it retains the original model’s architectural curvature, while decreasing its weight to allow for easy stackability, portability and storage. the result is a versatile and easily adaptable chair for different environments.

the designer takes a more luxurious direction with his ‘high-backed lounge chair’ and ottoman. the sleek minimalism of the chair expresses an elegant yet inviting quality with its protruding arms and slanted backrest.

the scandinavian feel of the ‘high-backed lounge chair’ is reflected in the ‘wolfgang bar stool’, which takes on a more practical nature. the structural simplicity of the stools are the result of the honest materials used to make this product.

the last piece in the collection is the the ‘wolfgang table’. inspired by the cleanness, simplicity and elegance of classic scandinavian woodwork, it takes the carved wooden frames characteristic of the ‘wolfgang’ family and applies them to a table produced at both regular height and bar height. the curved top reflects the ‘wolfgang chair’s’ rounded seat and the table is an ideal complement to all the family’s other products.
