lunar europe have reinterpreted the rather mundane kitchen sink stopper. the design group has turned the object into a sculpture in which the water in a basin is captured by a single, perfect drop. the simple design, ‘water stopping water’ echoes the water in which it holds creating a bit of irony in the sink.

  • This “water stopper” is a copy of a fruit bowl designed by Gijs Bakker for Keltum.

    See it here:

    guerilla says:
  • A simple act of genius!

    Ahmed says:
  • It looks cool. I wonder how it would perform: if you put anything in the sink other that the water, it seems like you’d knock the plug over by its tall handle.

The designs from Gijs Bakker linked by guerilla capture the motion of a water drop as well or better and seem like they’d be more suited to their purpose.

    Nermal says:
  • that fruit bowl is a copy of a drop of water designed by Science or God, whichever you prefer.
