

maarten baas makes time exhibition at dutch design week
for the 15th edition of dutch design week, maarten baas continues to explore the theme of time with an interdisciplinary exhibition called ‘maarten baas makes time’. located in the VDMA building in eindhoven, the show saw a collaboration between various dutch designers and top chef sergio herman. the exhibition, in which the boundary between art and design has been consciously blurred, showcases a mix of design, visual arts, performing arts and gastronomy.

the maarten baas makes time show exhibited many works of the designer himself, accompanied by ‘beach animal’ by theo jansen, ‘fossil field’ by iris van herpen, and others by atelier NL, atelier van lieshout, sander mulder and many more. a temporary restaurant has been conveniently situated in a tent n the center of the exhibition where baas has set the table with his own china and silverware designs.
maarten baas new collection ‘close parity’
the maarten baas makes time exhibition also presents to the world the premier of the designer’s newest collection called ‘close parity’. the set consists of a series of five cabinets that continue to demonstrate the absurd mix of childlike simplicity and complex craftsmanship that distinguish maarten baas. five prototypes will be exhibited for the public to see for the first time.
