for her graduate project at the design academy eindhoven, mandy roos has created ‘trichophilia’, a fashion collection which celebrates hair in places where it is normally shaved away. swaying away from the general trend to groom every part, roos recommends leaving it unkempt in an attempt to break the taboo about body hair. the series of undergarments — named after the term describing hair fetishism — are woven, knitted, knotted and hand tufted to look like pubic, armpit and chest hair. the ‘golden rainbow hairy high-waist panties’, ‘short fizzy hair booty briefs’, ‘curly armpit hair bra’ and ‘full fluffy hairy chest bra’ are part of the collection, bearing a candy-colored aesthetic and edgy vibe.
