italian designer marco iannicelli has redeveloped the traditional task-light with his project ‘happy tree friend’. the angled lamp is enlarged, moving it from its original place on the office desk to the floor. to contrast the industrial aesthetic of the metal, bolts and springs, the main rods are replaced with tree branches. although the prototype is done with birch, the product will be available in robinia and maple, changing the texture and color of the product.

  • I love this piece!

    Jason r says:
  • Something very disturbing about this lamp- like bones from arms and legs snapped off and “repurposed”, just ’cause it’s cool.
Unnatural, creepy, and friends don’t butcher friends.

  • @IckkyIzzy
Thank you for your comment. I am the maker.
You got it! The name is pure sarcasm. Calling something dead “happy & friend”.
This is my way to express the contrast between nature and technique.
If you do not like it, feel free to do so.

By the way, I do not “butcher” living trees. I work in cooperation with local forestry office. They call me when me when they have to cut down trees. I choose a few branches before they get shred.

    Marco Iannicelli says:
  • fa un po paura in effetti. ma poi perche una cosa del genere?

    ciccio says:
  • I like it, it’s like “android” version of the lamp 😀
    1. technics inside
    2. organic outside

    Please continue 🙂

    KasiaWrotek says:
  • Well done Marco, i want one!

    Nemo says:
  • When I read the title, I thought of the show on Youtube and expected something totally different.
