melooni fabric pattern

finnish company marimekko presented their spring 2010 collection at maison et objet paris.

the designers are kristina isola, maija isola, the duo rinne niinikoski, erja hirvi, pia holm, aino-maija metsola, heikki orvola, sami ruotsalainen, maija louekari and mikko laakkonen.

modern classics, maija isola’s melooni, sateenkaari, max ja moritz, unikko, silkkikuikka and kivet designs form the backbone of the collection, including new colours by kristina isola. the new colours are in warm red and orange tones; in the other main colour group, the first green of spring is teamed with sunny yellow and the blue of the sky. the graphical melooni pattern comes in two sizes: in addition to the large, juicy original there is a smaller version, repeated rhythmically on the fabric in a stripe-like surface. there is also a series of kitchen textiles in melooni as well as floor cushions.
