as part of the collective landet, swedish designer martin vallin exhibits his ‘tip toe stool’ inside the greenhouse venue of the 2011 stockholm furniture fair.

the X-shaped stool features five legs, one on each end of the ‘X’ and a longer leg placed in the center of the seat’s surface. with this arrangement the stool lets you balance either on the center leg or to rest on either of the four other sides. the stool can be stacked in threes.

  • I notice there are no pictures of anyone using this stool. Why? Because it’s hideouly uncomfortable? Uncomfortable furniture is poor design.

    D. Barber says:
  • If it’s a stool for a fakir, missing nails …

    iBouc says:
  • It is actually good! I tried it in Stockholm. Real fun to balance on.
