generally, electric bikes follow the conventional bicycle layout, with motors, batteries and systems added to it. mexican automotive design company mastretta revised this idea in order to create the MX3 tricycle, a vehicle envisioned to be electric from the outset. its design places the heavy motor and the battery in the lowest position, generating great maneuverability and responsiveness. this layout also permits location of cargo at the front, middle and back of the tricycle, all kept low for stable behavior.

designed for both human and electric propulsion, the MX3 tricycle by mastretta bikes takes full advantage of the higher power and torque it has available. its inverted trike layout  permits a low and centered battery position which results in low center of gravity and up to three cargo areas. the backbone steel platform is light, strong, economical and versatile. the rider position is kept the same for visibility, efficiency and control.
