clay extruded stools by max cherpack

as a student of the holon institute of technology in israel, max cheprack is researching the industrial process extrusion using clay as his medium. building two pneumatic extruders for two different die sizes, cheprack manipulates the clay material with precision, through the device he has built, leading him to create a variety of objects which illustrate the possibilities of this technology and material combination. as a means of presenting his explorations and findings, he has created the form of a new stool, using the clay extrusion as the seat of the furniture object. constructed with wooden legs and minimal hardware, the design exhibits alternative methods of production and design through the use of clay.
