prague-based designer maxim velcovsky was asked by the czech company křehký to develop their gallery’s current exhibition space for their current exhibition ‘why do we love alvar aalto?’. the exhibition presents the work of iconic finnish designer alvar aalto and his impact on the international design scene. using the finnish landscape as his starting point, velcovsky has developed a stage-like installation in which a large wooden cottage sits in one corner of the exhibition area, with a pier extending outwards, both structures acting as areas for displaying the products on show.
