‘meccanica’ for demode by gabriele centazzo, engineered by valcucine, offers an eco-sustainable kitchen storage system which minimizes the consumption of raw materials–a real DE-mocratic MO-dern DE-sign (DEMODE). a lightweight frame of single structural elements, connected using mechanical joints, eliminates the use of glue and formaldehyde, making ‘meccanica’ 80% reusable and 100% recyclable. from wood to high-tech fabric, what makes the framework unique is its doors which are flexible and can be mix and matched, increasing their customizability. available in wood (a natural 3-layer pinewood finished with aniline-based dye that sets off the natural grain of the material); iron (an anodized aluminium with a 100% recyclable frame; and fabric (a teflon-coated, elasticized, stain-resistant, washable textile available in a range of colors), all three products are resistant to steam, water and heat, ensuring a long technical and aesthetic life within the kitchen and greater domestic environment.
