architecture connects with the salone del mobile 2016 through a major event that focuses its attention on the latest trends in finishings for the planning, building and construction industry. conceived by MADE expo and developed especially for presentation during milan design week, the ‘space&interiors’ exhibition explores the narrative interface between a variety of innovative materials and leading-edge architectural components, including: arbours, cladding, curtains, decoration, doors, finishes, floors, gazebos, glass, handles, home automation and entertainment, lighting, paint, stairs, surfaces, wall fittings, windows; offering a selection the most significant products currently being manufactured by a list of specialized companies.

a collateral exhibition organized by migliore+servetto architects called ‘the new components code’ will provide a sensitive interpretation of solutions presented by exhibitors, thanks to the unique way in which products are placed in harmony with their commercial setting. the overall exposition space which features a central promenade at its centre, surrounded by stands and booths, has been developed along a double theme: commercial on one hand, with an in-depth interpretation of the products on show; and analytical on the other — making direct comparisons between the two. migliore servetto space interiors i saloni designboom

located in the mall at porta nuova, ‘space&interiors’ is set to put forward a unique, multisensory and immersive experience for visitors. in conjunction with the leading event, migliore+servetto architects hosts the ‘space&interiors factory competition’ — open to students aged 18-30, enrolled in architecture and design courses at italian universities. the competition invites individuals to sum up their interpretation of the theme ‘the codes of contemporary living through a short video and manifesto; asking them to emphasize the relationship between finishes and elements that define the living environments. during milan design week, the winning concept will be announced by an eminent panel of judges, and a selection of the best projects resulting from the competition will be on show. for more information, visit: www.space-interiors.it
