‘peanut’ by miki astori for driade coffee table. green or light gray painted cast aluminium base, tubular stand and plate top. Ø 48 h. 78

miki astori has created the outdoor table ‘peanut’ for italian furniture company driade. the milan-based architect, interior and furniture designer developed this uniquely-formed outdoor furnishing unit with weighted base to stand upright. a tube cuts through the circular table top, entering the surface slightly off from the center point, then joining to the flexible base below. the shape of this base is that of a ‘panettone’ and serves as design tribute to milan’s parking bollards by enzo mari, which have helped to form the aesthetic of the streets of milan.
