milton glaser: cork presenter for alessi
for superb presentation, cork presenter by milton glaser
alessi gave designboom a sneak preview on the items for the alessi 2012 collection.
to begin, a tiny object proposed by our long time friend, the new york-based graphic designer milton glaser. 25 years ago glaser did the graphic layout of an alessi cookbook entitled ‘la cintura di orione’. now he created a product for real wine enthusiasts. oenophiles usually regard a wine’s label for status and prestige and also the cork is properly displayed. after opening the bottle you can smell the aroma of the wine on the cork, discreetly, without touching it.
glaser’s new book ‘in search of the miraculous or one thing leads to another‘ is a compilation of work, largely created by him over the past five years, which demonstrates how one concept leads to another.
more new items will be published in the following days.
