miran nudell: 'apogee chair'

‘apogee chair’ by miran nudell

‘apogee chair’ by israeli designer miran nudell is made with pine wood, polyurethane rubber and fiber glass rods. nudell came up with the flexible design after observing people sitting on chairs on a daily basis, noticing how they tend to move alot and would look for the next ‘temporary’ comfortable position.

‘searching for the balance between comfort, flexibility and support gave me the apogee chair, a chair that suits the sitter.’

  • pepe heykoop idea

    stole says:
  • this is genius. applause!

    jono says:
  • Cool idea, but why is the chair so boring and straight?

    undertcut says:
  • I saw a very similiar concept at RISD in 2005, at furniture design department senior show, done by a designer you show on here who does crayon rings. still very nice. @ undercut it’s archytypical. He’s focusing on just the addition of the flex.

    gordon says:
  • beautiful idea!!!!

and whoever think it’s boring has nothing to do with design

    rotem sol says:
  • copied.

    karl says:
  • Practically saying – It’ll be better if rubber just happen at the seat back, the ones on legs are not benefitical. Development based on this prototype would be selling.

    too much for this one…

    Dora says:
  • I saw the chair for a restless character on the
imm-cologne in January this year. Great concept!
This one is boring and maybe copied.
