moment design: voyagesta

tokyo based studio moment design has completed a wedding chapel inside  of a hotel in sendai, japan. ‘voyagesta chapel’ aims to create an intimate environment  through careful choice of materials and light. 

upon approach, guests are welcomed with a repetitive diamond motif on the walls and floor that is then carried into the bridal hall itself. the symmetrical space is anchored towards the front with a backlit alter piece made from an assembly of smaller diamonds in white glass. primarily finished in two colors – light wood for the pews and white for the aisle and walls – the space consciously separates the attendees from the couple to highlight the bride and groom.
