the proposed design completely alters the traditional diamond-shaped framework by creating an easy on/ off alloy structure.
start up company monkey faction is on a mission to get people riding bicycles again, in a time when they are too often viewed as relics of the past or uncomfortable to ride. hence, the ‘capuchin’ design combines the comfort and ease of a scooter with the durability and responsiveness of a mountain bike.

one characteristic feature of monkey faction’s capuchin bicycle is its frame, which takes away the traditional diamond-shaped design. the one proposed is an easy-on/ off alloy frame that is shaped around the bike’s scooter saddle systemTM. this enables the rider to choose their optimal sitting position for proper leg extension and comfort; the system features a long, slender saddle reflecting the banana seats from the 1960s and early 1970s. capuchin also includes BMX-style wheels with massive four-inch tires for a smooth, stable ride — as well as shimano gears and disc brakes for easy shifting throughout its 7-speeds and ample stopping power for any situation. led by three bicycle industry veterans who have been in the business for over two decades, the capuchin design has been released on kickstarter the 1st of february 2017 with a 30 day campaign. the full project can be seen here.
