Moooi & simone bonanni create the Hana Chair 

Named after the Japanese word for ‘blooming,’ Moooi’s Hana Chair by Simone Bonanni blossoms in its versatility. The seat invites vibrant conversations, intimate dinners, or bustling conferences with a bouquet of customizable colors, materials, and compositions. In a delicate balance between ergonomics and aesthetics, the Italian designer crafts a chair that not only exceeds in comfort, but also graces any space with its elegance.

From 2012 to 2015, designer Simone Bonanni had worked with Marcel Wanders’ Amsterdam studio as a product designer and project leader before returning to Milan to start his own practice. Since then, he has established himself as an educator and founder of Simone Bonanni Design Studio. This collaboration with Moooi marks Bonanni’s return to the Wanders universe. Named after the Dutch word for beautiful, the brand is led by Marcel Wanders and Robin Bevers with the aim of bringing eclectic, original design to the market.

hana’s customizable features

Hana, with its petal-shaped backrest, opens like a flower to create an enveloping embrace. Crafted to provide prolonged sitting, Hana’s encompassing backrest ensures flexible support, adapting to the body’s contours without compromising on aesthetics. Its organic shapes and curved lines make sure that chair is beautiful without the sacrifice of comfort.

Whether they’re hosting a family at the dining table or crowded around a conference room in the hundreds, the Hana Chair has a host of customizable features that makes it especially adaptable. The seat is available in six colors with the option to upholster. It also offers a regular or stackable base in Chrome or Matte Black. With commercial and domestic spaces in mind, the Hana chair is designed for versatility.
