murman arkitekter: ‘le mur’ for materia

‘le mur’ is a modular seating system that swedish design company materia has developed in collaboration with wivian eidsaunet and marie oscarsson of murman arkitekter. its form comes from the idea of having a room within a room and can be arranged in a number of configurations: round, pivoted or straight. there are irregularly placed buttons on the back of ‘le mur’ which are not only for decoration. they go all the way through the wall and can function as hanging devices. ‘le mur’ was presented at the stockholm furniture fair 2010.

  • Amazing that they still push out this kind of “trendy trash” like there was seen in Stocholm this year. Ideas copied from Hella Jongerius and Bouroullec brothers. No one can ever be as great as originals.

    Where is real originality?

    Mila says:
  • why are people worrying about similar ideas?
it is not a copy, it is a different interpretation of a theme that existed already in the middle ages – high back benches.

    gritt says:
  • Middle ages high back benches already interpreted by Hella J and B. brothers, you mean?

    Mamie says:
  • nice in detail
