my private sky dishes by kram/weisshaar

‘my private sky’ is a collection of porcelain plates designed by the young duo kram/weisshaar for porzellan manufaktur nymphenburg. the series is a limited-edition, hand made and painted collection of tableware, which features a pattern of constellations. the design was made possible by a special computer application — a process oriented tool that transforms defined variables: latitude, longitude, altitude, date and time of birth parametrically to enable and enhance the specific calculation of a precise view — the designers created which would transfer the stars on the porcelain pieces. with this act the generic design drawing is replaced by a unique data set calculated for each single set of plates. this pattern is executed in a way that when placed together they collectively form the full night sky.
