nendo’s private exhibition: ghost stories, new designs from nendo museum of arts and design, new york on until january 10th, 2010

earlier designboom wrote about the ghost stories, new designs from nendo exhibition at the museum of arts and design in new york which features four new designs from the japanese studio: the cord chair, blown-color / blown-fabric, ghost stories and phantom-waves. now nendo has sent us images of the actual installation design.

the products displayed along with material samples convey a sense of the production process. the white plinths and boxes in which they are showcased are surrounded by small, 5mm-diameter white stickers which have been affixed to the floor around them, resulting in a gradation effect as if illuminated, melting into a larger space. the overall effect of the installation maintain’s the space’s specificity, while intensifying the presence of each new piece.
