new york design week 2013 guide compiled by designboom

designboom’s directory to navigating through the plethora of new york design week events

designboom’s new york design week guide 2013

in collaboration with the ICFF, designboom has compiled a day-by-day agenda of selected events, parties and exhibition highlights (the best the big apple has to offer!) running during new york design week 2013.

for many years designboom has been offering extensive guides for getting through milan’s and new york’s design weeks–the global design industry’s two most anticipated annual events. we started at a time when wifi accessibility and having a smartphone were not in demand, offering print-out versions of maps and event listings. however in recent years, this notion of a ‘hard copy’ has become obsolete, interrupted by the pervasiveness of mobile devices as well as digital programs and technology, such as google maps, which has made it a lot easier to access and navigate information simply via one’s phone.

we are happy to be continuing what we started with years ago in a digital format, by presenting designboom’s new york design week guide 2013,a tool for finding information–a directory of selected shows, parties and cocktails, open studios and exhibitions–offering a listing of ongoing daily design happenings from may 17th-21st,’s still in its beta prototype phase, so we apologize if it’s not running smoothly (if you find any glitches please let us know!), but we hope this makes it a little bit easier for you to  filter through the plethora of the week’s off-site programs and exhibitions, as well as helping you find out which companies and designers are presenting within the ICFF.

thanks to all of you who have submitted your events and contributing to our guide!
