the ‘newspaperwood’ collection expands with the addition of ‘tabloid tables’. the result of a collaboration between three dutch designers: arjan van raadshooven & anieke branderhorst of vij5 together with floris hovers, and these new pieces bring together a combination between craft and industry. each table is composed of a steel construction whose shape is formed by eliminating material along the legs to create the possibility of bending the metal. the frame is then outfitted with a ‘newspaperwood’ tabletop which is produced using greyboard ‘multiplex’ as a carrier, covered by a layer of ‘newspaperwood’ veneer, making it recyclable. the sizes of the each surface panel is derived from the typical dimensions of tabloid newspapers.
