newton espresso machine crafts coffee through minimalist lever-press

with a name that references the engineering and principles that underpin the device, the ‘newton espresso’ is a clean, simple, lever-press coffee machine. it centers on the crafting of a good brew and delivers it in perfection like a daily ritual. working with no electricity so ideal for camping, the minimalist design is very portable and robust, requiring little cleaning and maintenance as there are no internal parts to become faulty. as well, it is durable as it is composed of a wooden base, handle and tamp with a two-part acid catalyzed lacquer, and an aluminum stand and cylinder with an anodized, food safe finish.

as a simple albeit manual machine, the ‘newton espresso’ enables users to craft their coffee in an industrial-like fashion. high quality seals, a piston design and leverage system produces large water pressure to push through that perfect cup. furthermore, the force exerted through the handle, the quality of beans, and tamping pressure alike enables customizable results. the coffee maker aims to be crowd-funded via kickstarter, with its campaign beginning in october 2017.

the minimalist design is composed of differently finished wood and aluminum

when pulled down, the press pushes the coffee through the aluminum cylinder

the ‘newton espresso’ is portable for use at homes, offices and the outdoors

the coffee machine can be mounted to walls
