a minimalist motorhome

nils holger moormann introduces his ‘streifenwagen’, a minimalist motorhome that provides owners a cozy yet elegant atmosphere for journeys during summer and winter. the mobile camper is based on a VW t6.1, while a smooth color palette of high-tech surfaces, ash wood, and coherent lighting concepts complete the interior. moormann’s streifenwagen is outfitted with technical innovations that ensure a comfortable, fresh indoor environment.

practical yet fine design

in an attempt to give the space more depth, the designer (see more here) chose indirectly illuminated storage compartments integrated into the sidewalls. moreover, a hidden USB port provides an additional charging option for electronic devices within easy reach of the bench seat and bed. meanwhile, the dimmable battery reading light can be removed from the wall niche and serve as an outdoor light if needed.moormann's minimalist motorhome combines comfort, functionality and fine aesthetics

a generous feeling of space even in the smallest of spaces

the comfortable fold-out bench with its iconic striped design — by belgian fashion designer  raf simons — is the heart and the namesake of the streifenwagen. the soft upholstery fabric with the different textures of the wide stripes, developed for kvadrat refines the camping van and makes it stand out for its high quality and very special care properties. the fabric is made of soft wool yarn, which balances the temperature and the moisture all over the seasons; in winter it is maintained warm and in summer it guarantees a fresh indoor environment. meanwhile, the inherently antibacterial wool is self-cleaning, so light soiling can be brushed off after drying.

the kitchen saves enough space for storage and workspace, because of the flush-mounted ceramic hob which is integrated into the stainless steel worktop and the recessed sink. matted by hand, the silvertouch surface adopts a subtle touch, while the wide, frameless kitchen window allows natural light and ventilation to flow through the interior.
