noam toran’s work is heavily researched based and focuses on the ‘social, psychological and ethical implications of emerging technologies, mass culture, and celluloid media, and attempts to both define and criticize the intersection between science and society, between modernity and culture’. he constructs narratives through the design of his conceptual products and instigates discourse of design and contemporary human behaviour.

recent work includes billy’s got robot legs (2007) which is a ‘proposal for a speculative future where children purposefully amputate their limbs in order to be refitted with sophisticated prosthetics that improve their physical capabilities and ensure they get ahead in business’.

he also recently collaborated with dunne and raby on the all the robots project. more information can be found at world changing in an interesting interview with anthony dunne
