Nomad Studio’s structured planting design for Gucci Garden
Nomad Studio completes the garden design for the new bespoke Gucci flagship store in Dallas, Texas, situated in the southwest corner of the NorthPark Center. The garden, covering 5,000 sqft, serves as a communal space for both Gucci patrons and visitors to NorthPark Center.
Designed as a lush xeriscape, the garden aligns with Gucci’s commitment to nature, featuring a water-wise planting palette. The landscape incorporates Yuccas, Century Plants, and Hesperoaloes within a bed of Mexican Feather Grass, complemented by other drought-tolerant ornamental grasses and perennials.
Symbiotic Relationship between Nature and Architecture
Nomad Studio establishes a visual dialogue between the Gucci Garden and the architectural facade of the flagship store. The garden mirrors the modularity and proportions of the facade on the ground while introducing an organic yet structured planting design. Additionally, two modular cast stone benches are integrated into a plane of crushed stone, harmonizing with the storefront’s materiality and hues.
Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the Gucci Garden serves as a multifunctional space capable of hosting exclusive events. Simultaneously, it provides patrons with an opportunity to appreciate Gucci’s iconic window displays and views of the Nasher’s Family Contemporary Art Collection.
