note design studio presents arkad, a collection of pouffes designed for zilio a&c that resembles the rhythmic sequence of soft arcs. the arches have a familiar and uncomplicated silhouette, and their repetitive rhythm assigns a dynamic character to the products. the different modules, which were presented first during milan design week, can be combined to create larger seats, such as a daybed or corner and circular compositions, creating harmonious shapes in space.

‘arkad is the swedish word for arch, and is inspired by aesthetics from the world of architecture,’ explain the designers, ‘we explored different shapes that are characteristic within architecture and tried them out in smaller scales, until we found a balance by repeating the arch shape.’ the zilio a&c collection features modules that can be used separately or arranged in bigger combinations, to change their function according to the space they are placed. made in wood and polyurethane foam the structure is wrapped in febrik and rohi quality textiles, offer inghigh elasticity and softness, as well as an excellent aesthetic result.
