jin-woog koo, director of korean studio nothing design group has sent us images of the studio’s ‘smart phone notebook version. 2’. an update to their previous ‘smart phone note’, the new journal is made to hold the iPhone 4 within, acting as a carrying case for the device at the same time. the cut-outs on each page continue throughout the notebook, allowing the user to interact with the digital nature of their iPhone, in relation to the physicality of paper simultaneously. overall, the ‘smart phone note’ measures 185 x 260 mm (8.5 x 11 inches) and contains 176 pages.

the iPhone 4 fits into the center cut-out of the notebook

the notebook also acts as a case for the phone

the user can make interact with the device while also writing traditionally

    S says:
  • Wow!
It looks better than the version they had before.

    lily says:
  • Very neat idea, so simple yet so cool.

    What? says:
  • Beautiful idea.
In your next version I would suggest making a 1/2″ diameter hole in the back cover to make it easy to pop out the iphone.

    faf says:
  • I sugest that the hole for the cable would be better if goes out through the upper part of the sheet, it could help to pass the sheets and let the iPhone in the notebook

    Beeatrees says:
  • Neat idea. I can’t see any use other than novelty, though. Also, since the headphone cord exits the front cover, that means that you have to thread the headphones through the hole every time you turn a page. Makes me want to write REALLY small to avoid the hassle.

    Allen says:
  • awesome idea!

    katie keller says:
  • to Beeatress & Allen
    thanks for commets.
There is no problem in using. you can use earphone cord in each page, you can be used without the cover up.

    nothing design group says:
  • This is absolutely creative!!!! AMAZING!

    Pilar Heranz Sanchez says:
  • Wow~Good!!!

    BeomSeok says:
  • wouldn’t the detail on the front cover be better suited to the back cover, if we turn the pages right to left?

    betadinesutures says:
  • Great post. Interesting product. Any info on how to purchase?

    DVA says:
  • If you want to buy the smartphone notebook, contact below e-mail.

Now its products are sold only in Korea.

  • since the earphone plug can be detached from the iphone while using it in the middle, maybe it is not a problem.

    jiyoung seo says:
  • A complete rip off from shawshank redemption. Waste of paper from the cutaway areas, would function the same if i put the phone in my pocket.

    Andy Dufresne says:
  • Jeez. THat what i want always!
