inspired by an interest in camera obscuras, ancient image making devices, london-based designer ed swan has designed ‘1:10’ and ‘1:8’ pendant lights utilising the same optical principles. by placing lenses around a light source, multiple images of the bulb are projected onto the outer shade. the lights have previously been exhibited at the design museum under the title ‘obscura views’.
