the slender ‘hanger’ by neri & hu incorporates modernist principles through the use of a simple grid structure. the rail is divided into three parts allowing garments to sit at its center, while smaller accessories hang from above or stand below on a circular platform.

neri & hu state they were interested in the ‘seemingly mundane and anonymous everyday objects. this hanger represents an object that is neglected and ignored in domestic and office environments — not glorified at all, but in fact among the most important.’ neri & hu refer to this design as an ‘ayi’, claiming that it is an endearing term meaning `aunt ́ and is what the chinese use to call their domestic helper. she doesn’t crave attention but adorns grace, beauty and usefulness to the household.’ the personification of this furniture piece mirrors the elegant shape in which they speak of. the hangers express a subtle nature and honest practicality.

‘phoenix’ by luca nichetto is named after ‘the bird in greek mythology that rises from its own ashes. the name derives from the chair’s renewable qualities which we have developed in the thorough lifecircle tradition that OFFECCT stands for’ says the designer. the chair which is available in various colours, is supported by four metal tubular legs that support a curved and inviting seat.
