canes by omhu

driven by the lack of exciting choices when it comes to assistive products, new york-based company omhu has created a series of walking sticks that integrate design and essential comfort. meaning ‘with great care’ in danish, omhu canes are influenced by the ease and effortlessness of scandinavian furniture coupled with the quality of hand-finished wood used for hockey sticks and skateboards.

styled from baltic birch with a natural oil finish, the design features a generous handle for an easy and secure grip. the wide and symmetrical curve of the handle allows users to easily lean the walking stick against a wall. the shaft is crafted from high-strength, lightweight recyclable aluminum which is capped with a patent pending tip made from the synthetic rubber used in high performance athletic shoes for cushioning and traction. available in three different sizes to fit the individual user, the product is finished in six different colours of bicycle paint using a zero-waste powder coating process.
