onion adds to the bear garage, a private [email protected] collection in thailand

the ‘bear garage’ was completed in two installments spanning three years by thai studio onion. originally tasked with the creation of a ‘bear cabinet’ that could accommodate up to 70 ‘[email protected]’ — a highly-collectible toy designed by japanese company medicom toy — the project was later expanded substantially.

in 2016, onion’s work includes the updating of ‘bear garage’s’ façade with aluminum carbon fiber sheets, and the addition of a gold sculpture by thai artist alex face. inside, the second display — which accommodates 51 ‘1000% [email protected]’, two ‘400% [email protected]’ and a KAWS’ passing through sculpture — is immediately viewable. the diverse garage, and collection, is maintained with impeccable precision, with every possible consideration met in a clear, concise manner.
