presented at the royal college of art graduate show in london, the playful series by graduate bilge nur saltik features everyday objects that integrate optical illusions into glassware, wall tiles and tablecloths. the collection of artifacts trigger different effects which reveal hidden visual secrets. these objects manipulate the information one’s brain receives by distorting the image in layers of different materials, in a play of color and geometrical patterns. to achieve these effects, nur saltik cuts pieces of glass by hand, resulting in concave cuts and sharpened edges that manifest a psychedelic-like interactive experiences.
