in a society driven by the digital, cosmetic processes are still very much rooted in the analogue. the fact that beautification remains a time consuming process became the base of what would eventually become the ‘osiloi collection’ by rui pereira and ryosuke fuksada.

the collection’s key element is the adoption of a zabuton–floor cushion–aesthetic, which aims to change the perception of time and space. by lowering the seat’s height, users must consequently adapt an altered posture, allowing them to experience the commonplace activity anew. a clever contrast of soft and warm colors excite the senses, and is accompanied by COTTO ceramics and natural bamboo
