outofstock has curated the 2010 collection for new furniture producer foundry, based in singapore. they brought together a group of young and international design studios such as elisa honkanen from aava design, ana kras, studiohausen, reinhard dienes & sebastian herkner, tomohiko sato and mikiya kobayashi to help design fondry’s first furniture collection. ‘rack your brain’ by tomohiko sato and ‘low table’ were just some of the many contributing designs.

the foundry collection was presented at imm cologne 2010. outofstock has been a previous participant of the designboom mart tokyo 2007.

‘rack your brain’ takes the form of a picture and is created on the coat rack. on first impression it appears to be a normal picture, however, hidden bars emerge to create a rack giving it an unexpected function.
