italian designer paola navone has conceived the ‘nuvola’ armchair and sofa for italian furniture manufacturer gervasoni. the plush contours of the seating objects’ forms resemble clouds, from which the designs themselves draw their name – in italian, ‘nuvola’ translates to ‘cloud’. each piece is composed of plywood and solid wood frames, a varied-density polyurethane foam filling which is stuffed with goose down and polyester staple fibre, upholstered with a removable cover, one of which is a silver, foil-like reflective textile which offers a futuristic aesthetic. other fabric patterns and textured fabrics are available, allowing owners to freely change the look of their furniture. the pieces in the ‘nuvola’ collection are generously sized, offering high arms and deep seats which give the feeling of sitting within a plush pillow – a cloud. the armchair measures 165 cm and the two sofas measure 220 and 260 cm.
