Paolo Cappello and Miniforms have teamed up to present Superpop — a playful series of recycled and recyclable furniture objects crafted entirely from plastic. Activating a green circular process, the collection transforms plastic waste into art through molding the items into lightweight and compact tables and stools infused with vibrant colors and mottled finishes. Embracing sustainability, lightweight construction, and bold creative expression, each of the pieces are versatile and adaptable to any context — be it indoor or outdoor.

‘superpop’ activates a green circular process

Made in Italy for furniture brand Miniforms, Superpop gives plastic waste a second life to create a furniture collection with reduced environmental impact. Industrial designer Paolo Cappello began his process with sorting the waste material into categories for various typologies, then melting the pieces at a low temperature of 120° using rotational molding to achieve the desired shapes.

Without mixing the categories, this heating method keeps the distinct characteristics of the plastic intact. Offering a fresh perspective on green design, Superpop’s compact size, lightweight construction, and vivid finish allow the furniture pieces to be suitable for various uses and inject a playful character to any environment. In a green circular process, the collection centers on sustainability — from its conception, to completion, to use, and beyond.
