‘spirogria’ by patricia urquiola for alessi

‘spirogira’ is a new series of steel wire baskets created by spanish designer patricia urquiola for italian design factory alessi fall winter 2011 collection. composed of a system of small containers, the traditional use of metal wire to construct the objects has enabled many designers in the history of alessi to focus on this process, offering a range of interpretations of the same material and technique. each of the individual pieces is formed by shaping a single module of wire and arranging it radially. together, ‘spirogira’ consists of a small wire basket, a citrus basket and large centre piece.
