eugeni quitllet bestows lightness of air for pedrali libre
The concept of a borderless living environment takes shape through an essentialist approach to seating, where the physical weight of furniture seems to dissolve into the atmosphere. Within the visionary landscape of the Salone del Mobile during Milan Design Week 2026, Pedrali and designer Eugeni Quitllet explore a future where the objects we inhabit are no longer static imprints, but fluid extensions of the human form. The Pedrali Libre collection proposes an answer to the quest for ultimate lightness, rethinking the traditional silhouette of bentwood through modern polymer technology to create a chair that navigates the transition between interior sanctuary and the open air.

pedrali libre collection amongst debuts at salone del mobile 2026
Within the #PedraliGentleHabitat — a 900-square-meter architectural ecosystem at Salone del Mobile 2026 — the Libre collection exists as an intentional presence as one of nine new collections. The design for Libre utilizes gas air moulding technology to achieve impossibly slim profiles, ensuring that the chair offers high structural strength without sacrificing the visual lightness required to exist naturally in any contemporary scenario. It redefines the relationship between ergonomics and aesthetics, manifesting as a compact monoblock that mimics the welcoming softness of an upholstered pad while remaining entirely honest to its material composition.

sustainable horizons for new seating collection
Pedrali and Quitllet’s experiments in organic geometry showcase the potential when industrial precision and human-centric craftsmanship are inseparable. The integrated openings in the Libre frame are not merely decorative but serve as a function, allowing for an easy grip and effortless maintenance across both domestic and contract landscapes. As the industry shifts toward a more conscious mode of production, the manufacturer explores the possibilities of circularity by offering a version crafted from recycled polypropylene — made of post-industrial material — that proves sustainability can be as sophisticated as the butter, honey, brown, dark red, mint green, and olive green hues that define the range.

gentle habitat for a new era of living
The Libre collection finds its home within a stand designed by DWA Design Studio, where a grid of poplar beams and undulating canvas walls create a sensory experience that celebrates design as an act of composition. In this space, the seating becomes a tool for well-being, nestled among tall trees and filtered daylight that blurs the line between the built environment and the natural world. It invites the user to feel free, translating the technical achievement of a stackable, durable chair into a sensory experience of hospitality and ease
