são paulo-based designers OVO (luciana martins + gerson de oliveira) have presented several new pieces of furniture for design weekend, brazil’s first festival to promote design and its connections with art,  architecture, urbanism, decoration, social inclusion, business and technology. the collection showcases four different lines: pedras, clara, tiras and bloco.pedras, which means pebbles or stones in portuguese, is a modular sofa which combines several volumes and surfaces into a single piece. the long linear item is accented with red, pink and yellow fabrics to add a level of playful to the line. tiras or stripes is a bed with thin segments across the frame creating a detailed focus on horizontal direction. the elements range in size, shape and color to create a custom atmosphere.

‘bloco’ – block credenza

‘bloco’ is a credenza crafted out of certified organic wood planks which explores the relationship between volumes and its outer structure. the outline is constructed out of natural and exposed elements while the storage panels are color blocked in navy, white and teal to create an architectural arrangement. clara is a collection of pieces which consists of a desk, bookshelf and chair.  the design of the objects emphasize simplicity and detail. the combination of lumber and basic hues create a strong minimal characteristic for the line.
