penguin-shaped egg-holder and boiler designed to dive into hot water

whether a yolk gulping fish or a cloud-shaped watering can, peleg design creates highly humorous products that are as functional as they are aesthetically amusing. in a similar fashion, the ‘egguins’ cooking apparatus appears as if a small colony of penguins ready to dive into the water. in fact, after sliding six eggs into the design, it can be used to cook, store and serve hard or soft-boiled eggs.

‘this small colony of penguins will hold up to six eggs together in the arctic winter of your fridge or in the hot springs of your pot,‘ explains peleg design about ‘egguins’. once an egg had been placed within its comforting, curved yet hollow form, the penguins’ black and white aesthetic are visually complete. the animals are then grouped together around a heat-resistant handle that is designed to stay above the boiling water.
