peter marigold: half full / half empty stools

london-based peter marigold has designed ‘half full / half empty’ for the idee wood stool project. the pieces are made from dying cryptomeria japonica trees which are turned green on a lathe, creating the curved stools, which crack open as they dry. each one is reversible in the sense that they are designed to appear either top or bottom heavy.
