the original peugeot emblem created 160 years ago in 1858, was a lion walking on an arrow. the emblem symbolized three major qualities of the brand’s saw blades produced at that time — flexibility, strength of the teeth, and speed of cutting — and the arrow conveyed the speed.

this year, for the geneva motor show 2018, peugeot design lab developed a huge 5-meter high statue of the lion. ‘the designers have shaped an iconic, timeless design throughout this monumental lion, with flowing, sculpted surfaces,’ comments gilles vidal, head of design at peugeot. ‘its spectacular dimensions emphasize the lion’s solid, powerful and unshakeable character. its posture, standing up, moving forwards determinedly but without aggression, conveys a serenity and a confidence in the future.’
