‘stacking vessel soldiers’ by pia wustenberg

‘stacking vessel soldiers’ is the most recent edition of german-born, london-based designer pia wustenberg‘s ‘stacking vessel’ series, conceptualized as functional domestic sculptures in which three discrete pieces can be combined to form a single functional object.

in the new series, wustenberg has reversed her use of materials, featuring a wooden bowl and ceramic cup, as well as a more hourglass-like form in contrast to the more conventional-vaselike appearance of ‘stacking vessels’. all works in both collections are handmade using the crafts of pottery throwing, glass-blowing and turning.
