RV design meets sports car with Polydrops P19 Shorty

Pushing the boundaries of RV design with a new visual language that blends polygonal objects and sports coupes, Polydrops returns with new trailer P19 Shorty. Building upon the success of the previous P17 electric camper, the P19 Shorty enhances its aerodynamic form to reduce air drag and infuses it with the sleek aesthetics of sports cars. With an angular frame crafted from aluminum, the camper blends modern design elements with functionality and is integrated with advanced energy efficiency features for a comfortable four-season, off-grid travel experience.

fusing modern design with functionality

The exterior of the P19 Shorty is characterized by sleek, aerodynamic lines, inspired by sports car design. Unlike traditional teardrop trailers, the P19 Shorty incorporates a Kamm tail and sharpened front fascia, which not only enhances the feeling of speed but also reduces air drag by up to 4 times more than other teardrop trailers on the market. The team at Polydrops further integrates a front air tunnel, a standout design feature which not only reduces air drag but also gives the trailer a bold and distinctive look.

In an extension of the exterior, the minimalist interior uses the same materials and clean visual lines throughout, creating a sense of unity and cohesiveness. The clear anodized aluminum finish wall and lightly textured plywood furniture together create a sleek and contemporary aesthetic while also concealing the trailer’s zero thermal bridged structural foam core cabin.

The project boasts innovative construction features that highlight Polydrops’ characteristic commitment to high-quality design and functionality when it comes to trailer design. As a true four-season camper, the P19 Shorty is able to provide warmth to passengers using only their body heat. Its cabin monocoque structural insulation also allows for a frameless design that reduces weight, lowers the center of gravity, and eliminates thermal bridges, resulting in a superior driving experience and increased safety on the road.
