polydrops unveils xp19

Travel trailer design and manufacturing firm Polydrops introduces the XP19 — an off-grid, zero-emission mobile space that challenges conventional notions of RVs. Designed by Kyunghyun Lew and Jieun Cha, the XP19 trailer emerges as the ultimate ‘life pod’ for adventurers seeking a blend of nature and comfort, with its advanced HVAC and energy harvesting systems. Drawing from diverse fields, from iconic sports cars to armored vehicles, this new model pioneers an aerodynamic design language that is both striking and sleek, fluid yet rugged. Constructed entirely from all-around aluminum composite, it achieves a balance of lightness and enhanced insulation, transforming it into a space designed for maximum comfort with minimal energy consumption.

With advanced systems such as heat pad-integrated LFP battery and control modules, the Polydrops XP19 operates various amenities, from induction cooktops to air conditioners and heat pumps, ensuring around 10 hours of uninterrupted operation without external power. The touchscreen interface from the interior streamlines management, and a 460W solar panel, coupled with the option to connect extra portable solar panels, ensures a continuous energy supply on the move. Designed to cater to urban dwelling explorers, this design allows travel in PHEVs or electric cars like Tesla without significant reductions in driving range. The XP19 boasts superior and unique aerodynamics, outperforming others in its category by up to 5 times. Additionally, the compact size enables easy parking in standard spots and access to underground parking lots in apartments, offering enhanced convenience.

Polydrops’ focus on renewable energy aligns with the essence of camping: disconnecting from civilization, dwelling in natural settings, and directly harvesting resources from nature. Through this approach, the US-based team has actualized a product that pursues environmental conservation while also ensuring uncompromised comfort anytime, anywhere.
