‘portable turbine’ by uprise energy

california-based startup uprise energy has developed a first of its kind 50kw portable wind energy generator. the entire machine fits into a standard 40′ ISO shipping container, has been optimized for low wind-speed environments and produces power for less than domestic utility power suppliers. extra power can be stored in a variety of other forms, including the conversion of air-to-water and biomass-to-hydrogen.

each turbine is able to power up to 15 homes in 12mph winds, and in  20mph gusts – up to 71 houses. intelligent by design, the machine will also lay itself down when it senses a storm overhead or if there is danger of overloading.

the design can be set up and provide power to any location required off the grid – on land –  in a matter of hours and is completely operable by a single person, for use in commercial and non-commercial settings such as campsites, sports events and show-grounds.
