back in october 2006, designboom co-organized the international design competition ‘’ceramics for breakfast’. among the shortlisted entries was ‘tropics’ by cuban designer luis ramirez. the design was composed of a ceramic teapot used as a citrus squeezer/ drinks pitcher. a four-piece-set includes a teapot with lid, two cups and the squeezer, which fits inside the pot. we thought it was a perfect way of bringing fresh juice to your breakfast table. we selected this work as one of the 10 commended entries the story doesn’t end here…
